Performing my solo

I think my solo went really well, although I forgot a little bit of the dance but I managed repeat something and then pick up the routine.  My spacing and timing of the piece where good, just on a couple of the jumps my underneath foot wasn't fully stretched which makes the leaps and jumps look messy.
My focus was good but the way I could have made it better was more eye contacted with the audience, also I felt that my breath control was good as I normally hold my breath when I'm dancing.

Dance unit

To create a piece of dance that is 2 minutes in any style chosen, Can be a solo or duet.

For my piece I have chosen to do a lyrical jazz number to the music Holding out for a hero by Ella May Bowen. I have chosen this style of dance because of the way I can express emotion and feeling through suitable movements. The music is very passionate so I need to make sure that the choreography is expressive and connects to the audience, make them feel involved in the piece and I want to keep them interested  throughout the number so adding jumps, drops, leaps, breath and pauses with help me with this.

I need to make sure that i have the right focus in this piece. My eye line can tend to drop if I feel uncomfortable with what I am doing so I am going to choreograph head movements and eye lines into my dance so this doesn't happen.

I feel that this term I have gained a lot more confidence with my dancing, and I feel that this has helped me in the group to put across ideas into group dances and numbers. It has also given me the confidence to help other students that don't have much dance experience.
